MHB was commissioned by BAM Nuttall North and Scotland (BAM) to provide geo-environmental, geotechnical and civil design support for new modular office building and associated car park and infrastructure at the BAM premises.
The development consists of the construction of a new modular office building and associated car park with a new access road from Glasgow Road (A803) providing access to the new car park. As part of this there will also be new utility services to the building and car park, CCTV/lighting and perimeter fencing and access gate design. A Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) for the surface water drainage on Site. The works are currently on going.
Ground investigations were undertaken by BAM in 2018, 2022 and 2023 based on the previous and current design submissions for planning approval. MHB undertook subsequent assessment and design works based on this information.
The geo-environmental works included Phase 1 and 2 Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), Water Pipeline Risk Assessments (WPRA), Phase 3 – Remediation Strategy and Verification Plan (RSVP) with subsequent Phase 4 – validation and verification which is still on going.
Other works by MHB and others included earthworks, drainage, foundation design and mining risking assessments (MRA), hydrogeological risk assessments (HRA), vapour survey and detailed quantitative risk assessment (DQRA) and various electrical and mechanical elements related to the carpark and drainage systems.
