MHB Consultants led the permanent and temporary works design for all remedial works to this severely collision-damaged composite bridge at Glencarse on the A90 between Perth and Dundee. Our contractor client was Taziker.

Our scope of works included inspection and survey of the existing structure, derivation of jacking loads, assessment of jacking points, design of main girder steelwork repairs, advice on heat straightening, temporary jacking arrangements, and all approvals.

The design also enabled the replacement of 12 bearings while traffic ran as normal on the bridge above. Steelwork repairs were carried out with one carriageway open throughout the works.
